what services do you provide?
we are smart marketers, but we have a penchant for technology. most of our clients come to us with only marketing or technology
needs, but we typically end up providing both. in general, we do these types of things:
- we can get people to do things, things like go to a website (that we build), and once there, to do something else, like sign up for an offer. we then help monetize those offers.
- we can also dream up and throw exclusive events that are talked about months before and years after. prior to the event, we can launch a mobile campaign to increase attendance. at the event, we collect more email addresses and mobile numbers to grow your database.
- we can create and implement an entire marketing campaign targeting social networks (social media marketing). this includes developing a custom, invite-only, private social network, and reaching out to existing communities to mine members and populate the community. top^
what types of projects are you currently working on?
a variety of interesting stuff that keep us up at night and get us to jump out of bed in the morning, thoroughly excited to start
the day. projects like these:
- launching and managing an amazing mixed media artist. we are handling his branding, online presence, public relations, events, and gallery openings. we will involve charities in everything we do and a percentage of all sales will go to a charitable foundation.
- helping to develop a company from concept to completion. it's a fantastic idea that we are making even more intriguing. the concept is a cross between image consulting, life coaching, and matchmaking. what distinguishes it from other similar concepts is the secret sauce we brought to the table. we're handling all the branding, including company name and logo creation; the website development that includes a private, invite-only social network; writing the pitch and sending it to our friends in hollywood so a reality show will be made. top^
what types of clients do you have?
our clients are as diversed as we are. we've had action sports brands as clients, health care websites, performing arts centers,
artists, salons, and everything in between. top^
do you guys think you're all hip and cool?
umm, well, we are, but we wouldn't use those words. we are innovative, a bit ahead of the trend, understand what is
attractive and evocative, and people want to be associated with us, just like you will be if you become
a client. top^
how long have you been around?
bigdevelopment was originally founded in 1998. it is being re-engineered by its original founder who sold/left the last 2 companies
he started. now that he can do whatever he wants, he's returning to his original passion. and now he's got 10 more years
of experience that he brings to the table. top^
if you're so creative, why such a simple site?
good question, but our clients are happy we expend our energy, time, and creativity on their work and not our website.
actually, that may be a cheeky response but there is a little truth to it. if you've noticed lately, the people who
are changing the world and/or making it better, are spending their time on what they do best and in their
free time, less on their website, and they are blogging about it. the web is getting simpler; design is getting
more elegant, and communication is getting more concise. top^
if martians landed at your office and demanded to be taken to your leader, where would you take them?
hmmm, we would take them to vinh ha, the ceo and founder. here's his professional LinkedIN profile:
http://www.linkedin.com/in/vinhha and his not-so-professional tumblelog:
http://vinh.tv. top^
why you and not your competitors?
that depends on the competitor. typically, our clients choose us because they are confident in our ability and they trust us. we are
always competitively priced but clients choose us because they know they will get great ROI on what they do spend. and clients
choose us because we add value, immediately. top^
all the really brilliant marketing/technology/help-clients-be-happy firms have a cute pet, do you have one?
yes, a kitty named kiani. he's rad and has good taste in bags. top^
